Free Crochet Pattern: Boho Shell Coasters

Three Boho Shell Coasters crocheted in white, brown, and teal cotton yarn, arranged on a light wooden background.

Boho Shell Coasters

If you are a beginner crocheter and you have never learned how to crochet in the round, this free crochet coaster pattern is the perfect project to tackle! It is an easy, simple 5-round pattern. Of course, it’s also great for crocheters of all skill levels who are looking to add a little bohemian decor to their home.

This boho crochet pattern is awesome for so many reasons:

  • Stash-Buster Project: It’s the perfect way to use up your leftover yarn scrap basket. Each coaster uses a very small amount of yarn!
  • Easy Care & Durable: Because they are made with cotton, they are incredibly durable. You can use them, abuse them, and easily wash them—but they are also so fast to crochet that you can whip up a brand-new set in an afternoon if you want a color refresh!
  • Beautiful Boho Decor: They are just so pretty and add a gorgeous, textured touch to any coffee table or nightstand.

Materials & Pattern Notes

Any medium-weight worsted yarn (Size 4) works for this pattern. To get the exact look in the picture, I used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton.

  • Crochet Hook: Size G/6 (4.00 mm)
  • Crochet Gauge: 16 sc = 4 inches (Gauge is not strictly important for this project, but helpful if you want them a specific size!)
