The Cordelier Knit Scarf: Easy Free Knitting Pattern
Are you looking for a quick, satisfying knitting project that results in a beautiful accessory? Look no further than the Cordelier Knit Scarf! This free knitting pattern is perfect for beginners and experienced knitters. It’s a super simple two row repeat that creates a pretty texture and it looks great on both sides!
The unique stitch pattern gives The Cordelier Knit Scarf a sophisticated look that is perfect for dressing up any outfit while keeping you warm. It looks a little bit like the bamboo stitch but it’s worked completely different. I have made so many scarves over the years with this stitch but I can’t remember what it’s called. If anyone knows the name please leave me a comment!
My favorite part of the pattern (and for most knitters) is there is no purling involved! With just two rows to remember, you’ll have this pattern memorized in no time. It’s the perfect project for knitting while watching your favorite show or movie.
The Cordelier Knit Scarf is adaptable and you can easily make it to any width or length you desire. I made mine skinny & super long but a wide shawl would look pretty too! Since it’s so easy to customize, gauge is not important and any weight yarn can be used.
Whether you are looking to make beautiful gifts for loved ones or spoil yourself with a new accessory, here is the free knitting pattern for The Cordelier Knit Scarf!
A quick note about the pattern: Depending how tight you knit and what yarn you use, this pattern can be a little stiff. To achieve a looser look, I went up 2 sizes for my needles and it’s up to you if you want to do the same.
Materials You’ll Need:
- Any weight yarn of your choice. I used Loops & Threads Impeccable in the color Aran. I made my scarf 77 inches long & used about 280 yards.
- Knitting needles that are 2 sizes larger than what the yarn calls for. I used size 10 for mine.
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
GAUGE: Gauge is not critical for this project, as it’s easily customizable.
Abbreviations:
- K – Knit
